"Marriage Week UK 7th-14th February 2012"
Marriage Week was founded in 1996 after our Director, Richard Kane witnessed the devastating break up of a friend’s marriage.
Richard was deeply saddened to hear that the reason for their break up was not an affair or even frequent rowing – their relationship had simply stagnated over time. Determined not to see other marriages break down as a result of neglect, Richard founded Marriage Week.
Marriage Week is a great annual focus for couples to take time to pause and learn some new skills to take their marriages from good to very good! We believe that the wedding day is only the start and that all marriages can get better and better with each passing year.
Marriage Week is supported by a group of charities and individuals who believe that healthy marriages bring benefits for all of society and should be encouraged and supported wherever possible. Marriage Week runs predominantly through local events put on by marriage champions and churches across the country. Please see the events page to see how you can get involved.
Marriage Week celebrates healthy marriages – the union of a man and a woman who make a permanent and exclusive commitment to each other, primarily though not exclusively, with the intent of procreation and the raising of children. We believe that this social institution, which has been enshrined in the history of civilization, provides vital inter-generational links and stability bringing benefits to all of society.
